The ask:
Address limitations and concerns with a recent rebranding and site rebuild.
Priority: Provide a better user experience, and minimize the maintenance overhead.
- Ensure site pages clearly and quickly communicate their intent
- Provide clear navigation to desired content with minimal steps
- Provide tools to expedite the migration of content from legacy systems
- Reduce or eliminate technical debt incurred by previous developer
- Minimize the amount of effort required to maintain the site
The Solution:
- Leveraged the existing WordPress platform and Divi toolset to eliminate thousands of lines of custom external code by implementing functionality within the existing tools, dramatically reducing technical debt
- Utilized existing brand elements, and ensured they were used in a consistent manor sitewide
- Redesigned page headers to make page intent clear, moving summary content above the fold and providing clear navigation to page elements that require scrolling
- Redeveloped navigation system to allow for easy evolution in the future
- Redesigned page grids and backend data structures to minimize duplication of data and effort, and provide more navigable content on the front end
- Providing ongoing training and support to the NCF inhouse web manager
- Ongoing maintenance and hosting
